About The School
It is a privilege to welcome you to Les Landes School as your new Headteacher. I am incredibly proud to take on this role and to be part of such a special school community. I look forward to getting to know our children, families and staff, and to building on the many strengths that make Les Landes a wonderful place to learn and grow.
Les Landes is an inclusive, non-selective single form entry primary school, serving children from Reception to Year 6. We currently have 156 pupils on roll. Our catchment area covers much of St Ouen, with our eastern boundary shared with St Mary.
At the heart of the St Ouen community, Les Landes is a welcoming school with high expectations for every child. Our dedicated staff create a nurturing, stimulating and ambitious learning environment where children are encouraged to be curious, confident and resilient. We celebrate the unique strengths, talents and needs of every child, ensuring all pupils have the opportunity to participate, succeed and flourish. Inclusion, equity and respect are central to all that we do.
Our values of Community, Achievement and Pride underpin school life. We encourage children to contribute positively to our school and wider community, celebrate achievement in all its forms, and develop pride in themselves, one another, our school and the community we share.
We want our children to become kind, thoughtful and responsible individuals who value themselves and others and make a positive contribution to the world around them.
Strong partnerships between school and home are essential to children's success. We value open communication, mutual trust and shared responsibility, and look forward to working closely with families to help every child flourish.
As we look to the future, I am excited to work alongside our children, staff, families and wider community to ensure Les Landes remains a school where every child is known, valued and challenged to be their best.
Les Landes is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child
Our vision is underpinned by the UNCRC, particularly Articles 28 and 29. Every child has the right to an education. Education must develop every child's personality, talents and abilities to the full.
