World Book Day 5th March

UNCRC Article # 29 & 31

Thank you for supporting our focus this year, promoting reading for pleasure.  The children read stories with other classes, we had a Masked Reader game, an assembly to share book character costumes and our book swap ensured every child got to take home a new book. The Reading Ambassadors from Les Quennevais met with our librarians and School Council to discuss ways we can all promote reading in our schools.

Pop in - Tuesday 31st March 3-4pm

This is an opportunity for your child to share their learning with you and for you to look through their books. On this day, we won't do the pilot pick up; we would like to request that parents park up and collect children from their classsrooms, even if you are not able to stay. We will open the playground for parking.

Jersey Eisteddfod 2026

Several pieces of children's artwork have been selected for entry into the Festival of Creative Arts, being held at the RJA&HS Showground 12th-15th March.  During this time, you are able to view the artwork displayed from all schools.

Good luck to our Y5 and Y5 children, taking part in the French Eisteddfod next week.  They have worked hard to learn their pieces.  Thank you to Mrs Price for teaching them and to Mrs Betts who is helping us with supervision next week.

Staffing change

Congratulations to Mrs Hopkins, who is expecting a baby in July! To cover her parental leave, we will be appointing a Y1 teacher for September and Mrs Hopkins will return in September 2027.

Swimarathon

Info being added to ParentPay for children in Y5/6 who have volunteered to swim on Friday 27th March, 1pm. Confirmation needed by 20th March please.

Annual reports

The annual report from your child's class teacher will be coming home next week, in an envelope addressed to you.  We will give these to the children to bring home; they will be instructed not to open them. They contain targets you can support your child with and some judgements relating to their grasp of the curriculum they have accessed so far this year.  If you have any questions, please contact your child's class teacher.
