The organisers have let us know that we have an incredible 40% of Y2-6 registered for tomorrow's event. There will be a presentation for the school with the greatest number of entrants at 4.30pm at Les Quennevais tomorrow. We would like to get a photo of as many children as possible, if you are able to stay or pop back. Good luck, everyone.
Sports Day and Community Picnic
This will take place on Friday 30th June, starting at 1pm with a carousel of games for children to take part in with other children in their house. There will be sprints after this, with parent races (incase anyone wants to start training!) At 3pm, we would like to invite you to join us on the field for an afternoon tea community picnic; bring a rug and enjoy the sunshine. All kinds of cake donations on this day would be very much appreciated.
Pupil Voice
The school was praised in our School Review for the ownership children have in the running of the school. This week, we have appointed inclusion ambassadors, 'DIFERA Champions' and we are in the process of recruiting Mental Health Ambassadors. These children join those already appointed to roles of School Council, Digital leaders, Rights Respecting Reps, Librarians, Eco Team, Anti-Bullying Reps, Philosophy for Children group and Gardening Club. For a small school, this is an incredible contribution from our children.
Medicine in school
If your child needs any kind of medication, this should be handed in to the office by an adult, so that we can be clear about administration and permission. Children should not have medicine in their bags or lunch boxes.
Breakfast Club opportunity
We will shortly be advertising for a Breakfast Club supervisor, to work 5 hours per week, 0730-0830 every day. If you might be interested in this position, please contact Mrs Charlesworth.
Class assemblies
The children in the following classes would like to share their learning with you at their class assembly. Parents are invited at 2.15pm on the following days:
Y4 Wed 21st June
Y5 Wed 28th June
Y3 Wed 5th July
Y1 Wed 12th July
Learning about GAND
Click here to watch our Y3 children sharing their knowledge and understanding about the genetic condition which affects one of their peers.
We have considerable staff shortages next week, mainly due to the Y5 residential trip for three days at St Aubin's Fort. Mrs Hart will be on the desk as Mrs Wiseman will be on the trip.
Maison Des Landes
This week, we have begun a link with the newly-refurbished hotel which caters for disabled guests. Our first link is to provide children's artwork for the walls and School Council will help to select some of this. The facility hopes to develop a Community Hub and this will be something our children can engage with.
Our Engineering Club took their tower construction projects to a celebration event today, explaining their designed to engineers. Industry professionals chose Isabella as the best communicator overall! Well done to everyone.
