Welcome Back

Well, we have finished our first full week of term! The children have settled back into school brilliantly, quickly adapting to new routines and expectations and engaging positively in their learning. Our Reception children have made a fantastic start and have settled well into school life. Well done also to our Year 5 pupils, who have successfully completed their Bikeability Level 1 training.

School Uniform Reminder

Thank you to parents and carers for supporting our school uniform expectations. Wearing the correct uniform helps children feel part of our school community, promotes a sense of pride, and ensures everyone is ready to learn.

As we settle into the new term, please take a moment to check that children are wearing the correct school uniform each day, including appropriate footwear. As the weather is very changeable, please ensure your child brings a waterproof coat to school.

Collection Arrangements

Please notify us if your child is walking home or cycling home. We are aware that many of our Year 6 pupils have passed their Bikeability Level 2. However, we still need confirmation from you that we can dismiss them without an adult present.

Breakfast Club

A polite reminder that all children attending Breakfast Club must be supervised until 07:45. Where possible, please do not drop your child off before this time. Alternatively, you are welcome to wait with them until a member of staff opens the doors. This is an important health and safety requirement, as children arriving before 07:45 will not be supervised until Breakfast Club officially opens.

Drop off zone reminder

Please note that between 08:30 and 08:50 the drop-off zone is not a parking area. You are not permitted to leave your car unattended here at this time. If you want to accompany your child into the playground, you must park elsewhere. The drop-off works well because cars pull in, let children out and drive off. Thank you for your cooperation.

Mustard Seed Christmas Shoeboxes

We are delighted to be supporting the Mustard Seed Christmas Shoebox Appeal once again this year. These shoeboxes bring joy and practical support to children and families in Romania and Ukraine at Christmas time.

If you would like to take part, please bring any completed shoeboxes into school by Friday 16th October. Our newly appointed House Captains will be keeping a close eye on donations, and we're sure they'll be keen to see which house can collect the most shoeboxes!  Thank you for your support and generosity.

Updates of Pupil Information

As I mentioned at Meet the Teacher, it is really important that we have the most up-to-date information for every pupil in our care. An invitation to SIMS parent app has been sent to you this afternoon, Please let us know about any changes to contact details, collection arrangements, medical information, or any other important information.

Next Week

As you’ll see from the dates below, we have our school photographs on Tuesday. If your child usually has PE on this day, please ensure they come to school in their full school uniform and bring their PE kit in a separate bag.

Our annual School Walk will take place on Friday. Please make sure your child comes dressed appropriately for the weather and brings any essentials, including sun cream and a raincoat. Fingers crossed for sunshine, but we’ll be prepared whatever the weather! ?????

Thank you to all the parents who have offered to volunteer to walk with the children. Please meet in the main school playground at 9am. Kindly note that the route is not suitable for younger children and pushchairs. Please do not bring along dogs.
