October is now here, but thankfully the sun is still shining. Our pupils have had a busy week. Well done to Year 5 and 6 for their participation in the Primary Cross Country event yesterday. As always, they represented our school very well, demonstrating our school values throughout.
Harvest Festival and Tinathon
All Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils will be visiting St George's Church on Monday as part of our Harvest celebrations. As this year marks the 150th anniversary of the laying of the church's foundation stone, Rev Pallant will also share some of its history.
At Harvest time, we encourage children to reflect on the importance of food and shelter for all. To support this, we are once again taking part in the annual Tinathon for the Shelter Trust. If you are able to help, please send your child with a tin of in-date food by Wednesday 7th October. Donations will be collected in school next week.
Clubs
Football and netball clubs are now up and running after school. Please keep an eye on ParentPay for fixture and match updates.
Our lunchtime clubs are also getting underway. Book Club has started on Fridays, with Eco Club, School Council, Rights Respecting Ambassadors and Digital Leaders launching soon.
Flu Vaccines
If your child missed their nasal flu vaccine, they can still receive it by attending a drop clinic. No appointment is needed.
Mustard Seed Christmas Shoeboxes
Just a reminder, if you would like to take part, please bring any completed shoeboxes into school by Friday 16th October. Our newly appointed House Captains will be keeping a close eye on donations, and we're sure they'll be keen to see which house can collect the most shoeboxes! Thank you for your support and generosity.
Just One Tree
Mrs Courtness spoke to the children in assembly this week to celebrate the school's fantastic achievement of helping to plant 1,227 trees around the world. If you would like your child to take part again this year, donations of £1 are welcome. Children who contribute will be able to add to a brand-new display being created by Mrs Sappe.
