Issue Date 7th July

EYECAN Children’s Spectacles Charity Voucher Scheme for children under the age of 12.

EYECAN, a local charity, believes all children should be able to develop their abilities and interests without experiencing the frustrations of poor sight. As early detection provides the best opportunity to correct sight problems, EYECAN is providing vouchers to all Island children under the age of 12 to cover up to £150 towards the cost of prescription spectacles. Parents and guardians can claim one EYECAN voucher per child every 12 months by simply entering their child’s JY number and date of birth on the voucher and presenting it at one of the opticians participating in the scheme. A list of Participating Opticians can be found on EYECAN’s website www.eyecan.je. Vouchers can be downloaded from their website, obtained from participating opticians or from Mrs Wiseman. Full terms and conditions can be found on their website.

Parent Forum

This will take place on Monday 10th July at 6pm. All parents are invited. I can share the proposal for a replacement PE tracksuit for KS2, some building updates and dates for next year.  If there is anything you would like to raise, or want clarification on, please ask your parent rep or email Mrs Wiseman.

Breakfast Club

We have an advert out for two Breakfast Club supervisors.  if we are unable to recruit, we may need to reduce Breakfast Club to 0745 start, without the provision of food. We are hopeful that we get suitable candidates and the job closes on 17th July, so we can make an informed decision before the end of term.

Jersey Library Summer Reading Challenge

This starts on 8th July and runs until 16th September. You can take part at the Town, Communicare and Mobile Libraries and details can be found here: www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk

Save the Date!

Meet the Teacher will be on Wednesday 6th September at 6pm. The meeting will start in the hall, and then you will have the chance to meet your child's class teacher. If you have more than one child, we suggest prioritising the oldest child.

Parent Reps

It's that time of year again! Thank you to the parent reps who have supported the communication this year; if you'd like to take this on for a year please let Mrs Wiseman know.  We have a school phone now, so I will be able to make a What's app group for reps.
