Y4 has been awarded the Young Hero (es) of the Year award in the DIFERA (Diversity, Inclusion, Fairness, Equality, Respect and Acceptance) awards. This is to recognise their work to support inclusion in their class, across the school and beyond our school. It's a fantastic achievement and we are very proud of the children. The Y4 signing choir will also be signing with the choir from St Clement's School at the launch of the CYPES Inclusion Charter next month.
Play equipment
UNCRC article #24 & 31
The new trim trail eqipment is being installed during half term, starting tomorrow. Although it might look completed, it will need to be inspected and signed off by the government health and safety team. Please do not allow children to play on it until we confirm it is safe. Please do not use the field whilst this work is happening because there will be vehicles and machinery. The immediate area will be fenced off, as concrete will need to be set.
Notification of school absence
Please use the link via the website to notify us if your child is unwell. We have asked parents to do this so that we don't miss notifications.
The assessor will visit our school on 21st March. If you would like the opportunity to share your views about inclusion in the school on this day, please email admin and Mrs Charlesworth will put a small group together.
House Charities
The House Captains are to be congratulated on their research and presentation of shortlisted charities to the children in their house. Every child has voted and the following charities have been selected for 2024:
Les Meilles - Red Cross, Plemont - Littlefeet Environmental, L'Etacq - Macmillan Jersey, Grosnez - Battersea Dog and Cat's Home
Look out for details of fundraisers coming soon!
Swimming success
Zac in Y6 is the Hampshire County Swimming Champion in no less than 6 events, following a competition last weekend. He also broke the Tigers Club record in 50m free and 50m fly. This is an incredible achievement - well done, Zac!
School News App - I promise, it will make your life easier!
This app allows you to sync the school calendar with your smartphone calendars. It also gives you quick access to latest news, photo gallery and newsletters. It's worth having! Here is the link with instructions:
Please do not feel under pressure to buy costumes; the focus is on raising the profile of reading and celebrating a life-long love of reading. We are offering the option of dressing as a book character, and many children enjoy this. Your child can come in school uniform on this day if they would prefer. We are asking all children to bring a book of their choice, and we will have a number of activities during the day.
Cycling Crocodile
After a couple of months of wind, rain and fallen trees, we are hoping to restart the Crocodile after half term. The roadworks are due to be completed by Monday 26th February and we are hoping to restart then. The heavy traffic throught the lanes at this time is too heavy for us to restart. If your child would like to join us and isn't signed up, please pop into the office. All children who can ride without stabilisers can join us and we leave the Methodist Church on Rue De Trodez at 0815. All parents welcome too!
