A busy few weeks

UNCRC Article # 29 & 31

This half term is especially busy with a number of whole school and class events, both in and out of school. The choir have their concert at the opera house and will also sing at Jersey Pearl, we have two evening performances of Y5/6 production 'The Wizard of Oz', Reception and Y1 have their nativity, we have the Carol Service in St George's Church, Christmas parties and our Christmas Fayre.  This is a huge amount of organisation, in addition to the usual timetable, and we ask for your supper (and understanding when we might be last minute with requests!)  Thank you for your support – we are looking forward to making the run-up to Christmas memorable for the children.

Children in Need - Friday 14th November

UNCRC Article #27

We have Pudsey visiting us next Friday to raise awareness of Children in Need. We have set up a ParentPay with a suggested £1 donation and children can come to school on this day in non-uniform with wacky hair (bring PE kit / trainers if it's a PE day or your child has football).

Hot lunch provision survey

As part of the review of the current school meals pilot, CYPES  are keen to gather as much feedback from parents and carers as possible. Their views will help them understand the impact of the current provision and inform the next phase of the service as they move toward the tender process next year.

Parent Forum

Our termly meeting, to which all parents are invited, is, Monday 17th November, 6pm.  This is an opportunity to hear an update on whole school developments. It is also a chance for you to raise something which you might want clarification on, or something for discussion. If you have an item, please let the office know, or contact your parent rep. Current updates will include developments in oracy, the outdoor play environment and budgets.

Thank you!

Just One Tree raised £222 - that's 222 new trees to be planted in areas of deforestation.

Christmas Fayre 28th November

The next meeting will coincide with Parent Forum at 6pm on Monday 17th November. We would like donations of raffle prizes, please.  We would also like donations for the bottle stall.  These could be:

Bottles of drink (wine, soft drinks, beers etc.),

Toiletries (shampoo, bubble bath, hand cream etc.),

Food (olive oil, salad dressing, ketchup, honey etc.)

Each year group is responsible for finding volunteers for a selected stall and parent reps are sorting this and letting Mrs Wiseman know so that she can collate the names onto a spreadsheet.

A reminder - End of term early closure at Christmas Thursday 18th December

The staff lost INSET time in September because the planned renovation works were not complete. In order to complete the mandatory training, we will be closing after lunch on the last day of term in December. We hope that this causes minimal disruption for families. Puffins will be operating 1-3pm to support childcare, should you need it.  Jbpuffins@gmail.com
